Professional Experience
Mental Health Clinician, Consultant In Private Practice, 2008—Present
- Provide comprehensive mental health assessments for guardianship/conservatorship hearings, assessments to determine appropriate mental health treatment plans and assessments to assist caregivers and service providers in determining appropriate psychosocial interventions
- Provide ongoing counseling/psychotherapy to adults in midlife, older adults and caregivers

- Provided training and presentations to national, state and local audiences on topics such as extreme hoarding behavior, managing challenging behaviors in clients, depression in the elderly, mental illness in the elderly and caregiver stress,
- Received coverage in newspaper articles and on television.

Areas of Specialization
- Mental Health – Worked for 28 years in a public mental health setting serving primarily adults and their families. Provided a range of mental health services.
- Aging – 34 years varied experience working with older adults and their families. Obtained a certificate in gerontology from Syracuse University in 1977.
- Hoarding –Developed a nationally recognized expertise in hoarding behavior as a result of working with persons who hoard throughout my career. Served as expert witness, provided trainings and workshops, developed a hoarding task force and served as consultant and advisor.

- Special Project Award from Arlington County Department of Human Services for leadership in the development of a County wide Hoarding Task Force (1999)
